IT HAS BEEN BROUGHT TO OUR ATTENTION THAT A TORRENT MAY HAVE HAD A VIRUS
THE VIRUS COULD HAVE INFECTED YOUR COMPUTER
IF YOUR NAME IS ON THIS LIST OR YOU HAVE DOWNLOADED ANY OF THESE TORRENTS PLEASE TAKE MEASURES TO ENSURE YOUR COMPUTER IS SAFE

1 turn of system restore
2 run your updates for your anti-virus
3 run a full/comprehensive scan on computer
4 if anythings is found delete as needed and please post anti virus details here
5 if your worried at all do a full reformat and change all your passwords

I'm a sucker I downloaded both and found Trojan Buzus in at least Holdem.Manager.v.1.10.03b.PRO.CRACKED.2010.03.13-EDGiNEA

Think I have deleted it all with anti-malware, spybot & microsoft security essentials but not sure to 100% yet

At least for me, Vipre has been pretty good at finding nasties.

Any advice on how to scan torrents before downloading?

Is it even possible?

scanning the .torrent is not possible i dont think

but you can scan (AS YOU SHOULD)all files once you have them downloaded

peeps listen you should have real time anti-virus not one you need to make scan your machine

i use norton 360 on an xp machine

altho this is a poker torrent site because of whats happened if you want to pm me ill be happy to send the info to DL 360 for windows (only xp sorry) but for vista and win7 its really not to hard to find

i just dont think i could UL here

a must is to turn off system restore or your machine will just back any virus ect up before you scan for threats

search and download from www.download.com. this site is clean. it is owned by CNET

fyi microsoft securital essentials blocked this trojan when I tried to run the program, but it seems like other users that run in had entered their passwords to poker clients or was it keylogging?

if we are downloading just videos is there a risk of  any virus stuff or is it only with executables?

no...you can programme a virus into anything

most times its a programme but it can be done

just scan the files as you download and you should be good

i did research on it the trojan is called brutius or something like that and its main purpose is to steal banking info / credit cards and all sorts of account passwords. It grabs ur browsers stored passwords and also packet sniffs / keylogs the other info
